I value helping you discover a renewed sense of purpose and manage discouragement constructively. Recognizing that change can be challenging, I strive to create a warm, accepting, and compassionate environment.

Children face challenges from various sources, whether situational, developmental, or internal. Darya Ross, MA, LPC
ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) Trained Therapist
Helping people has always been my mission! My sister and I were adopted together from Russia, so guiding people through changes in their life is something that I can personally relate to. Since I was a child, I knew I wanted to work in a field that focused on helping people. Throughout my life, I was the person people gravitated towards when dealing with life struggles. I have experience working in the field of neurofeedback as well as working at an ABA therapy office, while pursuing my master’s degree. I feel that my life experiences and work journey have contributed to my knowledge as a therapist.
I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health. I hold the license of Licensed Professional Counselor (License #90754), in the state of Texas. I have received training in sand tray, trauma and crisis therapy. I am Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) trained. I have had experience working with a very diverse population, and I have had experience working with Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Adoption Transitions, LGBTQ+, Self-Esteem, and Self-harming Behaviors.
I believe strongly in evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness strategies. I have a passion for working with children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma. My desire is to help people who are working through the effects of unresolved trauma. I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable expressing yourself freely, and offer a judgement-free zone to release all emotions and thoughts.
My goal is to provide you with knowledge and individualized appropriate treatment. Most importantly, I will commit to supporting you as you walk the path towards experiencing a better quality of life. Together, we will work through challenging events, while rebuilding your confidence and empowerment.
I enjoy activities with family and friends such as roller skating, playing with my dog, watching tv, going on walks, and traveling. I love exploring new areas, museums, and attending concerts. I love to cook and try new foods. I am always looking forward to finding new adventures.
Counseling can be difficult, and I promise to hold a space for you in an open, caring, accepting and non-judgmental manner. I want you to feel free to openly express yourself. Look forward to working with you!

Anger Management
Whether it is road rage; or emotional, verbal, or physical violence in marriage; or yelling at the media over the contentious political climate in our country, it seems that anger has become more prevalent in our lives and culture. Research shows that with increased frequency and intensity of anger outbursts, moods, thoughts, and relationships become more deeply discordant with long-lasting negative effects.
At Woodlands Family Institute, P.C. we take a focused, programmatic approach toward reducing the frequency of expressions of anger, providing coping strategies, and reducing the recovery time for anger occurrences.
While all of our therapists are skilled at anger-management approaches, and Alicia Gregg, Bailee Muse both conduct special anger-management training in group and individual therapy formats.
