I am a bilingual licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Texas with over fourteen years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my doctoral degree in psychology from Walden University in 2014 and received my M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Texas Pan American in 2003. I have been practicing as a clinical psychologist for the last four years and primarily conduct psychological evaluations for the geriatric population and for children with learning disabilities, ADHD, trauma, and emotional distress. I also conduct evaluations for Disability and Rehabilitation Services and forensic immigration cases. Prior to my work as a psychologist, I practiced as a licensed professional counselor for over 10 years and conducted psychological assessments under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. I used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as I worked primarily with children who suffered from behavioral, learning, and attentional disorders. Before I entered the mental health field, I was employed as a certified teacher and taught middle school students for five years.

I offer psychological testing for adults and children in both English and Spanish. Children who are struggling with academic work, social interactions, and emotional regulation often have atypical neurological development that can be identified through psychological assessments. This allows for parents, teachers and therapists to provide necessary intervention and accommodations to allow each child to reach their potential. Your child’s school, pediatrician or mental health provider may refer you, but a referral is not necessary for testing.

Psychological assessments are often helpful in understanding the strengths and challenges one may have in their cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning. The psychological assessment process allows for diagnostic clarity and individualized recommendations to move forward in pinpointing issues of distress, planning effective treatment, and reaching personal goals.

Professional Passion:

Overall, my passion is to help individuals work through mental health issues. I want to help families who have children that are going through distressing issues and life challenges.

I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughters and other family members. I especially enjoy watching my two daughters grow, develop, and experience life as it comes at them. I love meeting new and interesting people, experiencing different cultures, trying new cuisine, traveling the world, and shopping. Any outdoor activity is always a plus. I believe life is all about experiences and how we use them to become better well-rounded individuals.
