Credentials: Licensed Masters of Social Work-Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist.Professional Background: Received Masters Degree in Social Work from University of Texas at Austin in 1983, Therapist in Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center from 1983 to1984, Hospice Therapist from 1984 to1986, Therapist in Private Psychiatric Hospital from 1986 to 1988, Outpatient Private Practice 1988 to present.
Clinical Focus: With a particular interest in Eating Disorders and adolescents, I enjoy working with a variety of clinical issues which include depression, sexual abuse, grief resolution, childhood trauma, and women's issues of all kinds. Working a great deal with couples and families, I am especially interested in divorce and remarriage issues.
Interests: My greatest interest at present lies in parenting my nine year old son. I also have developed a love for Tae Kuon Do and recently received my Black Belt. Other interests include music of all kinds, knitting and handwork, reading, and swimming.
Treatment Philosophy: I honor the inherent value and strengths in the people and families I treat and operate from a model of wellness. I believe that people should be active in their own treatment and thus welcome and respect the client's input at all times. I see my role as being a co-creator with the client in defining their own answers on their journey.
