Jennifer Strauss, MA, LPC, LMFT

Credentials:  Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

Professional Training and Affiliations:  I received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University in 1998.  Following commencement, I pursued a Masters Degree in Counseling graduating in 2001.  Becoming a member of the Texas Counseling Association in 2000 has continued to develop my professional practice and keep me involved in Texas legislature.

Clinical Focus:  After spending the first four years of my career working with children, adolescents and families with a not for profit agency, I truly see the power of family.  Even though working with families and children remains an important part of my time, I have thoroughly enjoyed expanding my private practice to include more adults and couples. Currently maintaining a general practice with clients of varying ages (five to 63), I am pleased with the diversity.  There are a variety of clinical issues I am pleased to work with including marriage and family issues, depression, anxiety, abuse, grief, childhood disorders, adjustment disorders, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, as well as anger management.

Interests:  Growing up as an Army Brat, I quickly learned to value and appreciate other countries, cultures, and people.  I love to travel and experience new places and ideas.  When relaxing in the Lone Star State, weekends in Galveston, fishing and other water sports are a norm.  Live music, reading, attempting to grow a green thumb, and volunteering at my local animal shelter keep me busy.  I enjoy all sports with a highlight on soccer and baseball.  Though I have hung up my cleats, I still enjoy watching games live or on TV.  As I always try to root for the home team, I am a diehard Red Sox and Mets fan.  Please note, in a professional capacity, I do not discriminate against any Yankees or Braves fans
