Clinical Focus: My clinical focus is one that provides awareness of how an individual responds to, and functions within their environment. This approach incorporates marital, family, individual, group therapies, which work toward improving a client's personal relationships at home, work, and school. Populations of specific interest are: adults, couples, women's issues, and adolescents.
Interests: My interests are varied and include-- Women's issues: infertility, marital concerns, post-partum and menopausal depression--Parenting skills and the development of behavioral-management programs to assist families and teachers in optimizing behavioral and learning conditions at home and school--Marital dysfunction--Psychological/Educational assessment--ADHD Assessment--Individual, Group, Family therapies with children, adults, and couples--EMDR therapy.
Treatment Philosophy: My treatment philosophy is a Cognitive-Behavioral approach which incorporates a teaching paradigm that helps clients with problem-solving strategies and coping skills for working through depression, fear, grief, anxieties, and many other conflicts. Sessions emphasize the understanding and modification of patterns of thinking and behavior. While working together to explore the psychological issues underlying the problem, I enjoy teaching more effective communication with partners, children, parents, families, peers, and collegues.
